Review by hotel critic
As a wildlife conservationist and safari guide from Nairobi, I have experienced numerous luxury stays, but my recent visit to La Relais offered a unique blend of culinary excellence and stunning scenery—albeit not without some downsides. Upon arrival, the breathtaking view of Marambaia Beach set the stage for a relaxing getaway. While the breakfast offered limited options, the meals at the restaurant were notably commendable, showcasing a mix of international and Brazilian dishes that delighted the palate. Dining al fresco, with the sound of the waves in the background, created an inviting atmosphere. The poolside bar, where I sipped on refreshing drinks after a long day, was another highlight. The limited room service hours proved inconvenient, leaving me craving late-night snacks. La Relais serves as a decent retreat for those looking to unwind, but guests seeking a more diverse culinary experience might need to venture out.
